Centers of Learning

Description: This Thursday I made a trip to Knapp Hall for the pot luck dinner. On display there I found learning centers made by the EDS 150 class. I was surprised and excited at what I saw.

Reflection: While looking at these centers, I began to see their purpose. The center to the right is over nutrition. With these centers it is easy to keep all of your materials together. You can also tell what students have completed the assignment or activity that comes with each center. I even noticed how each student could personalize their center. For instance, I am friends with a baseball player in this class. Their center was teaching students the proper throwing technique. Theses centers also make it easy to teach one subject at a time.

Connection: As future teachers, we should all know proper teaching techniques and trades. The learning centers are functional while still fun for students. It is my goal to keep my students interested. These learning centers provide a simple way for teachers to work with more than one student at a time. This should always be important for an educator. Just by going to this dinner, I have learned the importance of learning centers.
