Description: For our portion of the art show, our group decided to use a jungle theme. We decorated the room with murals that were hand painted and stuffed animals. All around the room there were tigers, monkeys, and elephants. We also put decorated the large boards in the back of the room with our own art work. I drew lions because The Lion King is my favorite childhood movie. Kaylee created this great sign that said "Welcome to the Pre-Schematic Jungle." There was also one near the exit that said "Thank you for Visiting Our Jungle." These signs and subtle decorations really made people appreciate the art.Reflection: I can't help but be proud of the work we did on the art show. The room looked great and the art was presented well. It was visible from every angle of the room. After all, the main goal was to present the children's art in the best light possible. I feel that our group did so successfully. When it came time to create our own art work, I tried to pull inspiration from my past experiences. I never really knew how hard it was to draw on the spot. I actually began to feel the pressure of the situation.
Connection: Even though our group really dropped the ball on our first assignment, we really improved our quality of work with this art show. We really showed that it was possible for us to work together and create something great. This connects to the real world in many ways. For instance, when you give up after a failure, it becomes easy to lose faith. However, our group kept it together. We really worked well together on this project and it showed. When you have great chemistry, it’s possible to create great things. This art show was only one example of this.
